Our Mission
CPAN is committed to promoting the prevention and effective measurement of child abuse in Lane County, using best practices in dissemination science and surveillance. This includes the 90by30 Initiative, a community-campus partnership with a single aspirational goal: A 90 percent reduction of child abuse and neglect in Lane County. Find out more about 90by30 here.
This work is essential to building communities where all children are connected, all families are supported, and community members take action for positive, collective impact.
90by30
90by30 is a community-campus partnership with the aspirational goal of reducing child abuse 90 percent by 2030. It empowers each region of Lane County to choose prevention strategies – like the Welcome Baby Bundle and Roots of Empathy – that work for that area.
Trauma-Informed Schools
This partnership between the Center for the Prevention of Abuse and Neglect, Oregon Research Schools Network, and the South Coast ESD began in August 2020 and focuses on implementing trauma-informed school systems. Find out more about ORSN here.
Stewards of Children
Stewards of Children is a facilitated, video-based child sexual abuse prevention curriculum designed for adults. It is being delivered across 12 Oregon rural regions. CPAN is conducting a developmental program evaluation in partnership with The Ford Family Foundation.

Spotlight on 90by30
90by30, the child abuse prevention initiative housed at CPAN, is proud to be featured in the U.S. Children’s Bureau’s 2021/2022 Prevention Resource Guide as an example of the collective impact model.
The Prevention Resource Guide recognizes that there are actions we can take as a society and within communities, organizations, and families to address the root causes of child abuse and neglect – just as 90by3o believes every community member can play a part in keeping children safe, healthy and nurtured. The guide seeks to highlight the innovative ways that communities around the country are doing purposeful prevention work to help children and families thrive.
